Join Kara Swift for a weekend of silence at beautiful Maleny in the Hinterland of the Sunshine Coast, with a small group of up to 7 people.

Step away from your busy life and busy mind, learn how to meditate or deepen your meditation practice, without the distraction of chatter and devices. Receive fascinating teachings and guidance from an ordained Buddhist Monk.

Inclusions

🌱 2 nights accommodation in a comfy home

🌱 All meals - basic, home-style vegetarian meals made with love

🌱 Meditation instruction & practice with Kara. Deepen your practice or if you are a beginner - learn very simple and effective techniques and be confident to continue with your practice when you go home. 

🌱 Gentle Yoga Classes with Kara - Movement and breath will connect you to your heart and your calm centre again. 

🌱 Teachings from an Ordained Zen Buddhist master 

🌱 An optional 20 minute, one-on-one chat with a Buddhist Monk to ask questions. 

🌱 Be pampered with an indulgent massage (additional cost)

🌱 There is no need to "withdraw" from caffeine on our retreats - tea and plunger coffee are provided. 

🌱 Plenty of free time to nap, wander the grounds, take in the views or read books from the extensive library, with hundreds of books on spirituality, philosophy and Zen. 

🌱 Bedlinen, pillows and towel are provided  

Prices

🌱 A non-refundable deposit of $200 will secure your spot. The remainder is due 30 days before the retreat. Here are our terms. 

🌱 Arrival/Departure times: Arrive between 3pm - 4pm and retreat finishes just after lunch on the last day.  

Because of the nature of these retreats we can't accept late arrivals so that we can all commence the schedule at the same time. 

The silence does not commence as soon as you arrive. You will have plenty of time to chat to other guests, make yourself at home and ask any questions you might have. 

Prices

🌱 Twin share room with shared bathroom. This room is for a couple or good friends - $590 per person. 

🌱 Single room with shared bathroom  - $590. 

🌱 Queen bed with ensuite for 2 people - $690 per person. This option is for couples or good friends, sharing a bed

🌱 Single room with ensuite for 1 person - $890 per person. 

🌱 Bedlinen, pillow and towel are provided

FLOW OF THE DAY

Every aspect of your weekend is meticulously designed to take you on a journey, from an outward focussed and busy state of being, to a balanced state of inner reflection and calm. 

Morning

Start your day with some gentle seated stretches to wake your body, then a  guided meditation - on the "Tai-chi" deck with stunning views over the valley and off to the horizon.

A simple, leisurely breakfast is followed by some free time before your meditation class. You might even feel like crawling back to bed for a while - just because you can! :)

Afternoon

After lunch you might like to indulge in a nap or read a book under a tree (you are welcome to browse the library of hundreds of books that will deepen your spiritual journey). 

Then we will come together for a deliciously slow and restorative "yin yoga class" (all done either sitting or lying down and suitable for total beginners to yoga too). 

Evening

Before your delicious dinner enjoy some free time watching the fading sun and immersing yourself in the sounds of nature before a fascinating talk by a Buddhist monk after dinner. 

After which, a guided meditation will prepare you for a sound and restful sleep. 

Enjoy a herbal tea, some more reading or star-gazing before bed.
